Marriott Expands Thailand Portfolio

Marriott International Inc. and FICO Corporation have formalized an agreement to significantly grow Marriott’s presence in Thailand. This expansion will introduce seven new hotels, adding 1,200 rooms to the hotel group’s portfolio. The new properties are strategically located across three of Thailand's most popular destinations: Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket.

This development strengthens Marriott’s existing collaboration with FICO Corporation, which currently encompasses four hotels in Bangkok under distinct brands.

New Brands Debut in Key Cities

The agreement marks the introduction of several new brands to Thailand. CitizenM, Four Points by Sheraton, and Series by Marriott will make their debut, alongside an expansion of the established JW Marriott brand. The JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn is slated to feature 288 rooms, designed to blend luxury hospitality with urban living and enhanced wellness facilities.

CitizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 will introduce 147 rooms, reflecting the brand’s signature modern design and intuitive technology in the heart of the Sukhumvit district.

Diverse Options Across Destinations

Three Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties are planned for Bangkok, each positioned near the city’s BTS skytrain network. These include Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 8 with 162 rooms, Sukhumvit 14 offering 130 rooms, and Surawong with 201 rooms. Marriott’s newest collection brand, Series by Marriott, will also enter Thailand in popular resort areas.

Easy Planet North Pattaya, Series by Marriott, will provide 192 rooms, and Easy Planet Phuket Patong, Series by Marriott, will feature 142 rooms, both designed to reflect their destination’s character.

Increased Choices for Couples in Thailand

This significant expansion by Marriott International provides more diverse options for couples planning destination weddings or honeymoons in Thailand. The new JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn offers a luxury setting for grand celebrations or sophisticated honeymoon stays.

For couples seeking modern design and vibrant city experiences, the debut of citizenM in Bangkok presents a fresh choice.

The introduction of Series by Marriott in resort destinations like Pattaya and Phuket caters to those desiring comfortable, locally inspired stays, increasing the range of hospitality choices across key Thai locations for pre-wedding shoots or intimate ceremonies.
