TransNusa Launches Direct Bali-Phuket Flights, Fares From Rp2.3M

New Direct Air Service Connects Bali and Phuket
TransNusa Airline introduced direct flights between Bali, Indonesia, and Phuket, Thailand, starting September 9, 2026. This new route offers four weekly services, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The airline plans to expand to daily flights beginning October 3, 2026.
TransNusa utilizes an Airbus A320 aircraft for the four-hour journey, which provides 174 seats. Promotional one-way fares for this route begin at Rp 2,399,000, available through the airline’s official website. Standard one-way tickets start from Rp 2.3 million.
Operational Details and Market Significance
The inaugural TransNusa flight, 8B541, departed Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 11:40 am. It carried 174 passengers and arrived at Phuket International Airport at 2:09 pm local time. Scheduled flights from Bali depart at 11:30 am, arriving in Phuket at 2:35 pm. The return flight, 8B542, leaves Phuket at 3:35 pm and reaches Bali at 8:35 pm.
Nugroho Jati, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, stated the route strengthens air connectivity. He noted the route's potential to reinforce I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport as an Indonesian tourism hub. Datuk Bernard Francis, TransNusa Group CEO, remarked on bridging two significant tourism centers.
Implications for Destination Weddings and Honeymoons
This new TransNusa service marks the second airline to offer direct flights between Bali and Phuket. Indonesia AirAsia previously operated two daily flights on the same route. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport currently connects to 42 international routes across 16 countries, served by 44 airlines.
For couples planning honeymoons or destination weddings, this new route increases travel options and convenience. It simplifies creating multi-destination itineraries that include both Indonesian and Thai island destinations, enhancing accessibility for international travelers.
