Mandala Hotels and Resorts has completed a multi-million dollar renovation of the former Mercure Clear Mountain, reopening it as Peppers Clear Mountain in Queensland's Moreton Bay. This property now stands as the region's first five-star hotel. The retreat, featuring 51 rooms, is set across 20 hectares of bushland with views of the Glass House Mountains.
It offers flexible event spaces designed to host up to 150 guests, positioning it as a key destination for weddings and corporate events.
Refined Guest Experience and Culinary Offerings
The extensive upgrade, delivered in partnership with Dezign, focused on enhancing guest accommodation and public areas. All 51 guest rooms have been refurbished, offering a refreshed aesthetic. The Glasshouse Restaurant now features a new culinary direction, emphasizing a garden-to-table approach with seasonal produce from The Chef's Garden.
It includes a statement fireplace, banquette seating, lounge areas, and two private dining rooms. Leisure facilities also saw improvements, adding a dedicated billiard room, a newly equipped gym, and updated pool grounds.
Mandala and Accor See Growth in Queensland
Mandala Hotels and Resorts Chief Operating Officer Gemma McCourt stated that Peppers Clear Mountain represents a significant investment in Queensland. She noted the transformation aims to deliver a restorative retreat focused on reconnection with nature and others.
Accor Chief Operating Officer for the Pacific region, Adrian Williams, highlighted the hotel's role in setting a new premium benchmark for Queensland hospitality. He linked this development to surging tourism demand and increasing flight capacity in the lead-up to 2032.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery welcomed the new five-star hotel, seeing it as proof of the region's growing appeal for both leisure and business.
