IHG Hotels & Resorts and Urban Property Group are extending their collaboration in New South Wales, Australia, with the addition of two new hotel projects. These developments will bring their combined pipeline in the state to three properties. The new signings include the Crowne Plaza Newcastle and the Hotel Indigo Gosford.
Both hotels are planned as components of larger mixed-use developments by Urban Property Group, enhancing accommodation and event options in key regional areas. This expansion follows the 2025 agreement for Crowne Plaza Parramatta, solidifying the partnership's presence across metropolitan and regional NSW.
Crowne Plaza Newcastle's Event Capabilities
The Crowne Plaza Newcastle is scheduled to open in late 2029. This 171-room property will be part of a 43-storey complex adjacent to the Newcastle Interchange, which also includes 219 residential apartments. For events, the hotel will offer more than 550 square meters of dedicated space.
This includes a 425-square-meter ballroom, making it a significant new option for weddings and large gatherings in the city and the broader Hunter region. The opening will also mark the return of the Crowne Plaza brand to Newcastle.
Hotel Indigo Gosford Details
Further expanding the portfolio, the Hotel Indigo Gosford is anticipated to welcome guests by mid-2030. This 152-room hotel will be situated within Urban Property Group's "The Waterfront" precinct, offering views of Brisbane Water. Its amenities will feature a café and bar, a rooftop pool, and wellness facilities.
The design of the Hotel Indigo Gosford will draw inspiration from its Central Coast surroundings and local neighborhood, aiming to provide a distinct guest experience.
