Cheval Collection Expands Dubai Portfolio with New Residences
The UK-based luxury hospitality company aims to double its global projects, with Cheval Residences Dubai Islands set for completion in 2029.

Global Portfolio Growth
UK-based luxury hospitality company Cheval Collection aims to double its global portfolio within the next few years. The Middle East is a key driver for this expansion. Daniel Johansson, the company’s director of development and acquisitions, revealed these plans. Cheval currently manages 16 projects across the UK and the Middle East.
This growth strategy focuses on expanding its presence in significant regional markets, demonstrating confidence in their sustained appeal for luxury travelers.
Dubai Serviced Apartments
Cheval’s Middle East expansion began in Dubai with serviced apartments. These include Cheval Maison – The Palm Dubai and Cheval Maison – Expo City Dubai. Serviced apartments provide furnished units with self-contained kitchens and living spaces. They also offer hotel-style services, such as housekeeping and a front desk.
These properties cater to guests requiring medium- to long-term stays, offering comfort and convenience for extended visits to the city.
New Branded Residences
The company moved into branded residences in April with Cheval Residences Dubai Islands. This project is anticipated to finish in 2029. Branded residences operate differently from Cheval’s serviced apartment model. Units are sold to individual owners, who can then participate in a rental program.
This strategy diversifies Cheval's offerings in the region, reflecting evolving consumer preferences. S&P projects Dubai's hospitality market will recover by 2027.
Implications for Asia's Wedding Market
For Asian couples considering destination weddings or extended stays in the Middle East, Cheval’s expansion introduces new luxury accommodation options. These serviced apartments and residences offer refined settings for pre-wedding preparations or longer honeymoons. Wedding planners in Asia can note the increasing range of high-end lodging in Dubai.
This growth reveals the region’s sustained appeal for luxury travel and events, influencing future venue and accommodation choices for the wedding industry, particularly for those seeking privacy and extended comfort.
