Andaz Gold Coast Appoints Leadership Team

Hyatt’s first Andaz Hotel in Queensland, Andaz Gold Coast, has unveiled its leadership team ahead of its opening this year. Saraid Carey takes the role of General Manager. She brings over 22 years of leadership experience with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, spanning Australia and Asia Pacific. Carey previously served as Co-Chair of Women@Hyatt Asia Pacific.

Jane Strangman joins as Director of Sales and Marketing. Stacey Plaine is appointed Marketing Specialist. Steven Rhodes will lead as Director of Food and Beverage. This team prepares the property for its Australian debut.

Experienced Talent Drives New Gold Coast Offerings

Jane Strangman contributes over three decades of luxury hotel, resort, and tourism experience. She previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa Gold Coast for eight years. Stacey Plaine brings 14 years of international experience in luxury and lifestyle hospitality brands.

Her career includes roles with JW Marriott, W Hotels, and Mondrian Hotels. Steven Rhodes, Director of Food and Beverage, will oversee the hotel’s dining and social spaces. These include Nove Restaurant and Bar, Vista Lounge, Verde Bar, and the Andaz Pool Club.

JW Marriott Gold Coast and The Vantage Strengthen Teams

JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa announced Wilbur Tauro as its new Director of Operations. Tauro holds over 15 years of leadership experience across Marriott International, Four Seasons, and Hyatt Hotels. He previously served as Hotel Manager In Charge at Sheraton Resort and Spa, Tokoriki Island, Fiji.

In South Australia, The Vantage, a new luxury accommodation, appointed its General Manager and Head of Brand and Marketing. Bobbie-Jane Skewes joins as General Manager, with Brad Gaylard as Head of Brand and Marketing. The Vantage opens in December.
