A recent garden wedding at the New World Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City showcased a highly personalized theme, drawing inspiration from the television series Friends and the sport of tennis. Event planners The Story Packer developed the concept by focusing on the couple's shared interests and inside jokes.
A central feature of the ceremony was a full-scale replica of the iconic purple door from the Friends apartment, complete with its yellow peephole frame, serving as the altar in the hotel garden. This detailed approach allowed for a unique and memorable celebration.
Detailed Decor and Personalized Stationery
The thematic elements extended throughout the event, integrating personal touches into the decor. Guests encountered a wall adorned with nearly 500 tennis balls, reflecting the couple's passion for the sport. During the cocktail hour, a table designed like a tennis court, featuring a green surface, white lines, and an acrylic net, held beverages and desserts.
Inside the reception ballroom, the decor softened to dusty rose drapes and custom neon signage. Stationery Space designed personalized vow booklets, titled "The One Where We Tie the Knot," and invitations. Floral arrangements by Fléur. by Tunlee incorporated vibrant orange ranunculus and yellow gerbera, adding a bright, untidy garden aesthetic.
Bespoke Attire and Unique Elements
The wedding also featured distinctive attire and playful details. The bride wore a strapless gown from Thuy Bridal. Bridesmaids each selected a different satin dress and carried a single flower bouquet in a color matching their individual gown, creating a cohesive yet varied look.
The reception included a LEGO Central Perk set, complete with its orange couch, as a subtle nod to the Friends theme. A seating chart was creatively presented on 16 vinyl records, mounted on a green-and-white striped wall. HoangPhuong Wedding captured the day's events.
