Andong International Convention Center Opens for Joseon-Era Weddings
South Korea's new Andong International Convention Center features a 2,400m² main hall for 2,000 guests, alongside traditional Joseon-era cultural experiences for unique events.

New Convention Hub in Gyeongsangbuk-do
The Andong International Convention Center (ADCO) has opened in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, establishing the city as a regional hub for major events. ADCO’s design incorporates elements of traditional Korean hanok architecture within its contemporary facilities. The main hall spans 2,400m² and can host up to 2,000 guests, with options to divide it into three smaller areas.
Additionally, the 2,277m² Noblesse Hall is available for receptions and networking events. The center also provides 13 medium and small meeting rooms, a B2 exhibition space, and outdoor event areas including a rooftop garden. Inside ADCO, the World Confucian Culture Museum offers an added cultural dimension.
Joseon Cultural Experiences Nearby
Directly across from the convention center, the Korean Culture Theme Park provides immersive Joseon-era experiences. This park is designed to evoke 16th-century Korea, offering unique backdrops for pre-wedding shoots or guest activities. Participants can wear traditional clothing, emulating Joseon-era scholars.
The Seowon Seonbi Cultural Training Center allows exploration of Confucian values through games, while the Hwalteo offers traditional Korean archery. The park also features indoor and outdoor performance venues, including the Sandae Theater which overlooks Andong Lake. Weekend programming includes Joseon Circus performances and parades, enhancing cultural engagement for event attendees.
Traditional Accommodation and Activities
A short 10-minute drive from ADCO, the Seonseonghyeon Heritage and Cultural Village extends the traditional Korean experience. This complex reconstructs a Joseon dynasty administrative center, offering insights into local history. Guests can explore restored government buildings and engage in Hanbok wearing experiences.
The Seonseong History Museum details Andong's Confucian heritage. The village also features a Hanok Experience Centre and Folk Village, providing accommodation inspired by Joseon-era aristocratic homes, with various room sizes. Programs on traditional games, culture, and etiquette are available. A highlight is the approximately 1km Seonseong Waterside Walkway, a floating path across Andong Lake.
